[Al-Quran 50:6-8] Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and how it has no rifts? And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind, Giving insight and a reminder for every servant who turns [to Allah].

Q3 33-34, 59-60 || Q12

Adam & Joseph

Exploring the mention about Adam in Surah Aal-e-Imran (Q3:33-34, Q3:59-60) in the light of Surah Yusuf

Ascendants, Descendants & The Chosen Ones

Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Nuh, and (the) family (of) Ibrahim and (the) family (of) Imran over the worlds.
Descendents, some of them from others. And Allah (is) All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
[Al-Quran 3:33-34]

And thus will choose you your Lord and will teach you of (the) interpretation (of) the narratives and complete His Favor on you and on (the) family (of) Yaqub as He completed it on your two forefathers from before - Ibrahim and Ishaq. Indeed, your Lord (is) All-Knower, All-Wise."
[Al-Quran 12:6]

All the prophets who came after Adam are descendants of Adam. Abraham was a descendant of Adam, and an ascendant of Joseph.

The Khalifa, The Messiah & The Promised Hour

Indeed, (the) likeness (of) Isa near Allah (is) like (the) likeness (of) Adam. He created him from dust then He said to him, "Be," and he was.
The truth (is) from your Lord, so (do) not be among the doubters. Then whoever argues (with) you concerning it from after what came to you of the knowledge then say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray humbly, and [we] invoke the curse (of) Allah on the liars.
Indeed this, surely it (is) the narration - [the] true. And (there is) no (of) god except Allah. And indeed, Allah, surely He (is) the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
And if they turn back, then indeed, Allah (is) All-Knowing, of the corrupters.
[Al-Quran 3:59-63]

Do they then feel secure (against) that comes to them an overwhelming [of] punishment (of) Allah, or comes to them the Hour suddenly while they (do) not perceive?
Say, "This (is) my way; I invite to Allah, with insight, I and whoever follows me. And Glory be (to) Allah and not I am of the polytheists."
And not We sent from before you, but men We revealed to them from (among) (the) people (of) the townships. So have not they traveled in the earth and seen how was (the) end (of) those who (were) from before them? And surely the home (of) the Hereafter (is) best for those who fear Allah. Then will not you use reason?
Until when gave up hope the Messengers, and thought that they certainly were denied, then came to them Our help, and was saved whom We willed. And not (can) be repelled Our punishment from the people (who are) criminals.
Verily, (there) is in their stories a lesson for men (of) understanding. Not (it) is a narration invented, but a confirmation (of that) which (from) between his hands and a detailed explanation (of) all things, and a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.
[Al-Quran 12:107-111]

Both Adam and Jesus did not have a father. Joseph spent many years without his father.

Other humans probably existed when Adam was especially created by Allah for the purpose of Khilafat. Joseph had many brothers, but Allah chose him to complete His favours upon the Family of Jacob. Many humans existed when Jesus was especially created by Allah to be The Messiah. Muhammad ﷺ  was also from the family of Abraham. As Joseph was a brother from another mother, so are the descendants of Ishmael brothers of the descendants of Isaac.

Adam عليه السلام , Joseph عليه السلام , Jesus عليه السلام and Muhammad ﷺ grew up without the protecting presence of a human father. All were especially protected.

Allah chose Adam after his fall. Allah completed his favours upon Joseph in spite of the troubles and distances Satan had created between him and his family. Muhammad ﷺ prevailed over the polytheistic state of Makkah and surrounding regions. Allah will re-send Jesus, the Messiah.

Joseph and his brothers, and their descendants, are the Bani Israel. Jesus عليه السلام was a Messenger of Allah to the Bani Israel. To Iblis, Adam's khilafat was not acceptable. To Joseph's brothers, the vision of sun, moon and planets prostrating to Joseph was not acceptable.

To the Bani Israel, Jesus عليه السلام was not acceptable as the awaited Messiah and the Messenger of Allah.

To the Bani Israel, Muhammad ﷺ was not acceptable as the awaited Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.

The Deen & The Recompense

Indeed, (the) likeness (of) Isa near Allah (is) like (the) likeness (of) Adam. He created him from dust then He said to him, "Be," and he was.
The truth (is) from your Lord, so (do) not be among the doubters.
[Al-Quran 3:59-60]

They said, "Then what (will be the) recompense (of) if you are liars."
They said, "Its recompense (is that one) who, it is found in his bag, then he (will be) his recompense. Thus (do) we recompense the wrongdoers."
So he began with their bags before (the) bag (of) his brother; then he brought it out from (the) bag (of) his brother. Thus (did) We plan for Yusuf. Not he could take his brother by the law (of) the king, except that willed Allah We raise (in) degrees whom We will, but over every possessor (of) knowledge (is) the All-Knower.
[Al-Quran 12:74-76]

Jesus is the knowledge of The Hour (السَّاعَةُ). All other deens will be defeated, and Allah's Deen will prevail over the whole world.

Adam and Joseph

Purpose

To understand the story of Adam through the story of Joseph

Full Text

Alif Laam Ra. These (are the) Verses (of) the Book [the] clear.

Indeed, We, We have sent it down, (as) a Quran in Arabic so that you may understand.

We relate to you the best of the narrations in what We have revealed to you (of) this the Quran, although you were, from before it, surely among the unaware.

When said Yusuf to his father, "O my father! Indeed, I I saw one ten (i.e eleven) star(s) and the sun and the moon; I saw them to me prostrating."

...

Verily, (there) is in their stories a lesson for men (of) understanding. Not (it) is a narration invented, but a confirmation (of that) which (from) between his hands and a detailed explanation (of) all things, and a guidance and mercy for a people who believe.
[Al-Quran 12:1-4, ... 111]

The Quran, Surah Yusuf (Joseph)

Surah Yusuf claims that it is the best of narrations [Q12:3], and a detailed explanation of all things [Q12:111]. This last ayat of the surah also includes the phrase The word يَدَيْ is alternately translated as before and hands.

Confirmation of ... Between His Hands

He said, "O Iblis! What prevented you that you (should) prostrate to (one) whom I created with My Hands? Are you arrogant or are you of the exalted ones."
[Al-Quran 38:75]

Allah created Adam with His Hands. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph are all descendants of Adam. Comparing the narratives of Joseph and Adam, there are many parallels and overlaps, lending a clearer perspective.

The story of Adam is mentioned in several places across The Quran (Q2:30-39, Q3:33, Q3:59, Q7:11-33, Q15:28-50, Q17:61-65, Q18:50-51, Q20:115-124, Q38:71-88). The first narrative begins in Surah Al-Baqarah at Q2:30. So, starting at the very beginning with the purpose of responsibility

And when said your Lord to the angels, "Indeed, I (am) going to place in the earth a vicegerent, they said, "Will You place in it (one) who will spread corruption in it and will shed [the] blood[s], while we, [we] glorify (You) with Your praises and we sanctify [to] You." He said, "Indeed, [I] know what not you know."
[Al-Quran 2:30]

And thus will choose you your Lord and will teach you of (the) interpretation (of) the narratives and complete His Favor on you and on (the) family (of) Yaqub as He completed it on your two forefathers from before - Ibrahim and Ishaq. Indeed, your Lord (is) All-Knower, All-Wise."
[Al-Quran 12:6]

…

…

The following links study the ayaat about Adam across The Quran, comparing them with the ayaat in Surah Yusuf

-------

Surah Yusuf concludes thus:

And how many of a Sign in the heavens and the earth they pass over it, while they (are) from them the ones who turn away.

And not believe most of them in Allah except while they associate partners with Him.

[Al-Quran 12:105-111]

Iron Age

Abstract
The Quran states that Iron was made pliable for Prophet-King David. According to archaeological and scriptural sources, the time when iron became pliable approximately matches the period of his reign.

Full Text
The following are some ayaat about Prophet-King David in the Quran:

And We taught him (the) making (of) coats of armor for you to protect you from your battle. Then will you (be) grateful?
[Al-Quran, 21:80

And certainly, We gave Dawood from Us Bounty.
"O mountains! Repeat praises with him, and the birds."
And We made pliable for him [the] iron, That make full coats of mail and measure precisely [of] the links (of armor), and work righteousness
Indeed, I Am of what you do All-Seer.
[Al-Quran, 34:10-11

"O Dawood! Indeed, We [We] have made you a vicegerent in the earth
so judge between [the] men in truth and (do) not follow the desire, for it will lead you astray from (the) way (of) Allah. Indeed, those who go astray from (the) way (of) Allah, for them (is) a punishment severe because they forgot (the) Day (of) Account."
[Al-Quran 38:26

Certainly We sent Our Messengers with clear proofs and We sent down with them the Scripture and the Balance that may establish the people justice
And We sent down [the] iron, wherein (is) power mighty and benefits for the people,
and so that Allah may make evident (he) who helps Him and His Messengers, unseen
Indeed, Allah (is) All-Strong All-Mighty.
[Al-Quran 57:25

Prophet-King David was appointed ‘Khalifa’. Q34:11 describes the reason for making iron pliable as so that he is able to do  waiAAmaloo salihan.  Though almost all translators translate it as ‘work righteousness’, Q7:56 uses the same root for reform and contrasts it with corruption:

And (do) not cause corruption in the earth after its reformation. And call Him (in) fear and hope. Indeed, (the) Mercy of Allah (is) near for the good-doers.
[Al-Quran 7:56

As I understand it, all bani Adam have inherited the responsibility of being khalifas of the Earth, each given the task of reform as per those he/she has been made in charge of, be it just his/her family, or society, or on a national or international level. Especially, divinely ordained khalifas, prophets and messengers are given the task of major reforms, as per inspired divine guidance. Both Adam and David were divinely-ordained khalifas. As khalifa, David was charged with removing corruption and bringing in reforms internationally. This meant he had to declare war against corruption, thus the need for military might.

According to archaeological and scriptural sources, the time when iron became pliable approximately matches the period of Prophet-King David's reign.

The Iron Age is an archaeological era, referring to a period of time in the prehistory and protohistory of the Old World (Afro-Eurasia) when the dominant toolmaking material was iron. It is commonly preceded by the Bronze Age in Europe and Asia and the Stone Age in Africa, with exceptions. Meteoric iron has been used by humans since at least 3200 BC. Ancient iron production did not become widespread until the ability to smelt iron ore, remove impurities and regulate the amount of carbon in the alloy were developed. The start of the Iron Age proper is considered by many to fall between around 1200 BC and 600 BC, depending on the region.

King David

The Tel Dan Stele
The Tel Dan Stele, an inscribed stone erected by a king of Damascus in the late 9th/early 8th centuries BCE to commemorate his victory over two enemy kings, contains the phrase ביתדוד‎, bytdwd, which most scholars translate as "House of David". Other scholars, such as Anson Rainey have challenged this reading, but it is likely that this is a reference to a dynasty of the Kingdom of Judah which traced its ancestry to a founder named David. The Mesha Stele from Moab, dating from approximately the same period, may also contain the name David in two places, although this is less certain than the mention in the Tel Dan inscription.

Chronology
Many alternative chronologies have been suggested, and there is no ultimate consensus between the different factions and scholarly disciplines concerned with this period, as to when it began or when it ended.
Most historians follow either of the older chronologies established by William F. Albright or Edwin R. Thiele, or the newer chronology of Gershon Galil, all of which are shown below. …

Iron Implements of the Ancients
As regards the use of iron by the ancients, we read in Genesis about the descendants of Cain, in the eighth generation since Adam:
And Zillah, she also bore Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron; and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
[The Bible, Genesis 4:22]
