[Al-Quran 50:6-8] Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and how it has no rifts? And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind, Giving insight and a reminder for every servant who turns [to Allah].

Amr ( أَمْرُ )

Command

The Bee (16:12)

And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.

— Saheeh International

https://quran.com/16/12

The Quran mentions creation and command as two separate actions:

The Heights (7:54)

Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne.[1] He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

— Saheeh International

[1] See footnote to 2:19: Allāh states in the Qur’ān that He has certain attributes such as hearing, sight, hands, face, mercy, anger, coming, encompassing, being above the Throne, etc. Yet, He has disassociated Himself from the limitations of human attributes or human imagination. Correct Islāmic belief requires faith in the existence of these attributes as Allāh has described them without applying to them any allegorical meanings or attempting to explain how a certain quality could be (while this is known only to Allāh) and without comparing them to creation or denying that He (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) would have such a quality. His attributes are befitting to Him alone, and "There is nothing like unto Him." (42:11)

https://quran.com/7/54

Allah عزوجل creates with materials, such as humans with 'turab' and 'teen', jaan from 'naar', and so on.

Allah عزوجل commands and creation complies with His Commands. For example:

The Cow (2:117)

Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

— Saheeh International

Explained in Detail (41:11-12)

41:11

Then He directed Himself[1] to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being],[2] willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."

— Saheeh International

[1]Literally, 'become' or 'do [as commanded].'

[2]See footnote to 2:19: quoted above under Q7:54

41:12

And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired [i.e., made known] in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars, for beauty] and as protection.[1] That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

— Saheeh International

[1]From the devils who attempt to steal information from the angels.

https://quran.com/41/11-12

Those endowed with free-will are directed to willingly submit to their Creator and Sustainer. So, when Allah عزوجل commanded Abraham (Ibrahim عليه السلام):

The Cow (2:131)

When his Lord said to him, "Submit," he said, "I have submitted [in Islām][1] to the Lord of the worlds."

— Saheeh International

[1]The meaning of the word 'Islām' is 'submission to the will of Allāh.' This is the way of life ordained by Allāh and taught by all of the prophets from Adam to Muḥammad (). A Muslim is one who submits himself to Allāh.

https://quran.com/2/131

This was the legacy of Abraham (Ibrahim عليه السلام), and which was followed upon by the believers in his progeny, as quoted in the next two ayaat (Q2:132-133). Also, we find quoted his great grandson Joseph (Yusuf عليه السلام)'s prayer in Q12:101 praying to die in a state of Islam.

The Forgiver (40:66-68)

40:66

Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon besides Allāh once the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds."

— Saheeh International

40:67

It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders. And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term;[1] and perhaps you will use reason.

— Saheeh International

[1]The time decreed for your death.

40:68

He it is who gives life and causes death; and when He decrees a matter, He but says to it, "Be," and it is.

— Saheeh International

Joseph (12:40)

You worship not besides Him except [mere] names you have named them,[1] you and your fathers, for which Allāh has sent down no evidence. Legislation is not but for Allāh. He has commanded that you worship not except Him. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.

Q4:60 have you not seen those who have claimed to believe in what was revealed to you, and what was revealed before you? they wish to refer legislation to Taghut, even though they were ordered (أُمِرُوا) to reject it, and Satan wishes to lead them far astray.

Q4:83 and when comes to them some matter (أَمْرٌ) of security or fear, they broadcast it; and if they had returned it to the Messenger and those in authority among them, they could have found out through proper investigators among them, and if not for the favour of Allah upon you and His Mercy, you would certainly have followed Satan except a few.

Q4:114 no good is in their in much of their private conversation, except for those who enjoin (أَمَرَ) charity, or that which is right, or reconciliation between people. And whoever does that seeking means of approval of Allah, then we are going to soon give him a great reward.

And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of Allah has certainly sustained a clear loss.

Q12:53 I do not acquit my nafs; indeed the nafs commands (النَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌ) evil (بِالسُّوءِ), except those upon whom my Lord has Mercy; indeed, my Lord is Forgiving, Merciful

Noah's Ark

Materials

Abstract
The Quran states that the Ship of Noah was made of planks and دُسُرٍ . The Torah also informs us of the materials used to build Noah's Ark. This concept explores what materials are meant by it.

Full Text

And verily, We sent Nuh to his people, and he remained among them a thousand year(s), save fifty year(s), then seized them the flood, while they (were) wrongdoers.
But We saved him and (the) people (of) the ship, and We made it a Sign for the worlds.
[Al-Quran 29:14-15]

Both the Quran and the Torah mention the material which was used to build Noah's Ark:

[Al-Quran 54:13]
Al-Quran 54:13 Translations:
Pickthall: And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails
Yusuf Ali: But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm- fibre
Shakir: And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails
T.B.Irving: We transported him on something built with planks and caulking
Hamid S. Aziz: And We bore him on that (the Ark) which was made of planks and nails (or ties of palm-fibre)
Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali: And We carried him upon (an Ark), well planked and well caulked, (Literally: comprising planks and caulks, with nails)
Muhammad Sarwar: We carried him, (Noah), on a vessel built with boards fixed together with nails

The triliteral root lām wāw ḥā (ل و ح) occurs six times in the Quran, once for Noah's Ark, thrice for the tablets on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed, and once for the Guarded Tablet in which The Quran is inscribed:

In The Bible, the material with which Noah is directed to build the Ark with is also used just once, and as mentioned in the following excerpt:

The triliteral root dāl sīn rā (د س ر) occurs only once in the Quran, as the noun dusur (دُسُر).

According to Wikipedia, Caulking
'Caulking is both the processes and material (also called sealant) to seal joints or seams in various structures and some types of piping. The oldest form of caulking is used to make the seams in wooden boats or ships watertight, by driving fibrous materials into the wedge-shaped seams between boards. A related process was formerly employed to join sections of cast iron sewerage pipe.
Caulking is also the term to describe the process used to make riveted iron or steel ships and boilers watertight or steamtight.
The same term also refers to the application of flexible sealing compounds to close up gaps in buildings and other structures against water, air, dust, insects, or as a component in firestopping. In the tunnelling industry, caulking refers to the sealing of joints in segmental precast concrete tunnels, commonly by using concrete.'

Discussion
The Quran informs us that the ancients were far mightier. The ancient ruins testify to the Quran's claim. They seem to have used some very different technology, whereby their constructions needed neither mortar nor iron, yet their buildings are standing till this day.

Iron was made pliable for Prophet-King David, who reigned several centuries after The Flood which destroyed the criminal civilisation to whom Noah was sent.

Noah and other believers were saved in a water-borne vehicle, famously referred to as Noah's Ark. The Quran uses the word السَّفِينَةِ (ship) and informs us that the ship was made of something built with planks and دُسُرٍ .

Genesis 6:14, quoted above, mentions Gopher Wood (an unidentified tree) and Kopher, which is generally translated by both Jewish and Christian sources as 'pitch'. At least two sources [Gill's Exposition || John Hinton] mention it might be the Arabic kafura or camphor.

According to Wikipedia, Pitch
'Pitch is a name for any of a number of viscoelastic polymers. Pitch can be natural or manufactured, derived from petroleum, coal tar or plants. Various forms of pitch may also be called tar, bitumen or asphalt. Pitch produced from plants is also known as resin. Some products made from plant resin are also known as rosin.
Pitch was traditionally used to help caulk the seams of wooden sailing vessels (see shipbuilding). Pitch may also be used to waterproof wooden containers and in the making of torches...'

Various searches and claims have been made about the existence of Noah's Ark, though none have been proven yet. Knowledge of the correct materials, dimensions and location of the ark/ship would help identify it when the time comes. The Quran informs us that it rested on the Judi:

And it was said, "O earth! Swallow your water, and O sky! Withhold." And subsided the water, and was fulfilled the Command. And it rested on the Judi.
And it was said, "Away with the people the wrongdoers."
[Al-Quran 11:44]

Conclusion
From the translations, dictionary, lexicon and other references mentioned above, one can assume that planks of gopher wood were fastened together and made waterproof with some plant-based material called kopher.
