Abstract
Just
like Messenger Moses (Musa) was sent to deliver the Children of Israel (Bani Israel) from the Pharaoh (Firoan),
similarly we expect that, after severe trials, eventually the Believers will be
delivered, and ushered into the wonderful era the Quran terms as the Days of
Allah.

The
Quran recounts the story of the past civilizations, and the common message of
hope in all those narrations is that, after severe trials, the believers are
always rescued in the end, and the disbelievers are punished for their crimes.
Messenger Moses foretold by Prophet Joseph
Prophet
Joseph (Yusuf) foretold the coming of a Messenger of God:
[Al Qur’an 40:34]
And indeed, came to you Yusuf before with clear proofs, but not you ceased in
doubt about what he brought to you [with it], until when he died, you said,
"Never will Allah raise after him a Messenger." Thus, Allah lets go
astray who [he] (is) a transgressor, a doubter."
The ayat in Arabic uses the word [هَلَكَ] which should be translated as destroyed or perished, as are most other words using the same triliteral root hā lām kāf (ه ل ك). This is important as it is contrary to Genesis 50:26 which states that the body of Joseph was embalmed, and thus implies that efforts were made to preserve the body of Joseph.

Exodus & Prophet Joseph’s Bones
Prophet Joseph (Yusuf) foretold the Exodus and took a promise that
when the Bani Israel (Children of Israel)) are being delivered, they should take his bones with them (Genesis 50:24-25).
About four hundred years later, Messenger Moses (Musa) led the Bani Israel across the parted waters, and carried the bones of Prophet Joseph (Yusuf) along with them (Exodus 13:19 Christian translation / Jewish translation).
The Quran confirms the event in the following words:

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ
وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَيَّامِ اللَّهِ
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ
[Al Qur’an 14:5] And verily We sent Musa with Our Signs, that "Bring out
your people from the darkness[es] to the light. And remind them of the days
(of) Allah." Indeed, in that surely (are) the signs for everyone patient
and thankful.
Prophet David and the Psalms of David
After the deliverance of the Bani
Israel, a series of Prophets and Messengers were sent for their guidance and
leadership. Prophet-King David (Dawood) was one of them, to whom was revealed the Psalm (Zabur [زَبُورًا]):
[Al Qur’an 4:163]
Indeed, We have revealed to you as We revealed to Nuh and the Prophets
after him, and We revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail, and Ishaq and Yaqub, and the
tribes, and Isa and Ayyub, and Yunus, and Harun and Sulaiman and We gave (to)
Dawood the Zaboor.
Quran quotes the Prophecy in the Psalms of David
The Psalms (Zabur [الزَّبُورِ]) is supposed to contain
the following information:
[Al Qur’an 21:105]
And verily, We have written in the Scripture
after the mention, that the earth - will inherit it My slaves, the
righteous.
Prophecy in the Psalms of David
In
the Psalms, it is stated:
[Psalm 37:11, Translation: World
English Bible] But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight
themselves in the abundance of peace.
[Psalm 72:7, Translation: World English
Bible] In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until
the moon is no more.
Prophet Solomon’s
Prayer
Prophet-King Solomon (Sulaiman) was the heir of Prophet-King David (Dawood). He was
granted a mighty kingdom such that no one shall be granted after him [Qur’an
35:35 – 35:39]. Flashing
back to the trial of Adam in the Garden and consequent corruption of his
genome, as discussed in Adam’s
Attempt to Improve upon Allah’s Creation, the prayer of Prophet
Solomon (Sulaiman) asking to be included among the ‘salaiheen’ takes on a new meaning in
the context of the correction of the genome:
[Al Qur’an 27:19] So he smiled - laughing
at her speech and said, "My Lord! Grant me (the) power that I may thank
You (for) Your Favor which You have bestowed on me and on my parents and that I may do righteous (deeds),
that will please You. And
admit me by Your Mercy among Your slaves righteous."
The root ‘S-L-H’
for the word ‘alssaliheena’, generally translated as righteous,
is defined in Lane’s Lexicon page 1714 as … it, and he, was, or became, good,
incorrupt, right, just, righteous, virtuous or honest; it was, or became, in a
good, incorrupt, right, sound or proper, state, or in a state of order; …
Messiah Jesus
Most
religions expect a Messiah
to come deliver the Believers from evil. Many Muslims also expect that Messiah Jesus(Masih Isa ibn-e-Maryam), the Messenger of Allah, will come and deliver the Believers from
the Anti-Christ, and usher in the wonderful era the Quran terms as the Days of Allah!
When Adam was created as a 'khalifa' for Earth, God bestowed knowledge upon Adam and honoured him above the angels, ordering all angels to submit/prostrate to him. In verse Q45:13, we, the progeny of Adam, are being reminded that Allah has subjected to us whatever is in the Heavens and whatever is on Earth, and then the next two verses state:
[Al Qur'an 45:14,15] Say to those who believe (to) forgive those who (do) not hope (for the) days (of) Allah; that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn. Whoever does a righteous deed, then it is for his soul, and whoever does evil, then it (is) against it. Then to your Lord you will be returned.
The Hour [السَّاعَةُ], commencing the Day of Resurrection [يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ], and ushering in the Days of Allah [أَيَّامِ اللَّهِ]
(1) The Hour [السَّاعَةُ]
The following ayaat inform us of when the first sky or heaven is opened up for the Believers:
[Al-Qur’an 57:21, Translator: Shakir] Hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and to a garden the extensiveness of which is as the extensiveness of the heaven and the earth; it is prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers; that is the grace of Allah: He gives it to whom He pleases, and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace.

Surah Al-Qamar
[Al Qur’an 54:1 Literal (Word by Word)] Has come near the Hour and has split the moon.
The First and Second Event
There seem to be two major reckonings being foretold in the Qur'an:The First and Second Event
The Hour [السَّاعَةُ], commencing the Day of Resurrection [يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ], and ushering in the Days of Allah [أَيَّامِ اللَّهِ]
(1) The Hour [السَّاعَةُ]

[Al-Qur’an 21:104, Translator: Sahih International] The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.
[Al-Qur’an 30:11-14, ... 30:55-60), Translator: Sahih International] Allah begins creation; then He will repeat it; then to Him you will be returned. And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will be in despair. And there will not be for them among their [alleged] partners any intercessors, and they will [then] be disbelievers in their partners. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day they will become separated. ... And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they were deluded. But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, "You remained the extent of Allah 's decree until the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not used to know." So that Day, their excuse will not benefit those who wronged, nor will they be asked to appease [ Allah ]. And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example. But, [O Muhammad], if you should bring them a sign, the disbelievers will surely say, "You [believers] are but falsifiers." Thus does Allah seal the hearts of those who do not know. So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And let them not disquiet you who are not certain [in faith].

(2) The Day of Resurrection [يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ]
The following ayaat inform us of when the seven skies or heavens are recreated:
[Al-Qur’an 3:133, Translator: Shakir] And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord; and a Garden, the extensiveness of which is (as) the heavens and the earth, it is prepared for those who guard (against evil)
[Al-Qur’an 39:67, Translator: Sahih International] They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be [within] His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
[Al-Qur’an 14:48, Translator: Sahih International] [It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and all creatures will come out before Allah , the One, the Prevailing.

Until the Moon is
No More
The Bible informs us that the Days of Allah [أَيَّامِ اللَّهِ] shall last till:
[Psalm 72:7, Translation: World English Bible] In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.
[Psalm 72:7, Translation: World English Bible] In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.
In
Surah Al-Qiyamah, the Day of Qiyamah is described as:
[Al
Qur’an 75:6-9,
Translator: Shakir]
6 He
asks: When is the day of resurrection?
7 So
when the sight becomes dazed,
8
And the moon becomes dark,
9
And the sun and the moon are brought together,
In
approximately 5 billion years, the sun will begin the helium-burning process,
turning into a red giant star. When it expands, its outer layers will consume
Mercury and Venus, and reach Earth. Scientists are still debating whether or
not our planet will be engulfed, or whether it will orbit dangerously close to
the dimmer star. Either way, life as we know it on Earth will cease to
exist.
However,
Surah Al-Qiyamah states:
[Al
Qur’an 75:6-9,
Translator: Shakir]
34 Nearer to you (is destruction) and
nearer,
35 Again (consider how) nearer to you and
nearer.
So,
the time frame according the theory may be in billions of years, but according
to the Quran, it is near, in fact very near:
Surah
Al-Ma’arij
[Al
Qur’an 70:1-9,
Translator: Shakir]
1 One demanding, demanded the
chastisement which must befall
2 The unbelievers-- there is none to
avert it--
3 From Allah, the Lord of the ways of
Ascent.
4 To Him ascend the angels and the
Spirit in a day the measure of which is fifty thousand years.
5 Therefore endure with a goodly
patience.
6 Surely they think it to be far off,
7 And We see it nigh.
8 On the day when the heaven shall be as
molten copper
9 And the mountains shall be as tufts of
wool
Surah Az-Zumar
[Al Qur'an 39:67-75, Translator: Pickthall]
67 They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be [within] His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
68 And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on.
69 And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, and the record [of deeds] will be placed, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought, and it will be judged between them in truth, and they will not be wronged.
70 And every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did; and He is most knowing of what they do.
71 And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates are opened and its keepers will say, "Did there not come to you messengers from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "Yes, but the word of punishment has come into effect upon the disbelievers.
72 [To them] it will be said, "Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant."
73 But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter].
74 And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers."
75 And you will see the angels surrounding the Throne, exalting [Allah] with praise of their Lord. And it will be judged between them in truth, and it will be said, "[All] praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
