The Quran concludes with a prayer for protection against the evil whispers of both jinns and humans.
The Quran advises us to repel evil with that which is better. Prayers deter us from sins. We are directed to recite prayers in soft tones.
Recognising the enemy is critical to understanding the abilities of the enemy and very important to identifying the tools needed to protect and defend with. To understand the dangers posed by the whispers of humans and jinns, we need to know how sound is used and abused by both these creatures, and how it can be used for communication and mind control. Of particular relevance to this study are low-level and infrasound for long distance communication.

مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ
مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
Say, "I seek refuge in (the) Lord (of) mankind,
(The) King (of) mankind,
(The) God (of) mankind,
From (the) evil (of) the whisperer, the one who withdraws,
The one who whispers in (the) breasts (of) mankind,
From the jinn and men.

The Quran concludes with a prayer for protection against the evil of the الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ. The prayer seeks protection from whispers of both jinns and humans. The whispers are directed to the breasts (صُدُورِ). The Quran states that it is Allah who cures (Q9:14, Q26:80), and that this Quran contains healing from Allah, our Lord, for that which is in the breasts (صُدُورِ).
The heart lies within the breast:
There is emerging research that there are three neural processing centres (brain, heart and gut) in the body. Science assigns the mind to the brain, while the heart is assigned a key role in the scriptures.
When Moses was commanded to go the Pharaoh, he prayed that his breast be expanded! So, how do whispers affect us?

In Q114, we pray for protection from the الْوَسْوَاسِ . From Q7:20 and Q20:120, we learn that this is how Satan communicated with Adam to persuade him to eat from the forbidden tree; and from Q50:16, we learn that our own NAFS is also communicating with us in the same way:

Prevented from Hearing
The devils are prevented from hearing The Quran, while its a shifa and guidance for the believers.
Snakes and serpents played a key role in the religion of the Pharaoh, as well as in most mythologies all over the world. When the Pharaoh and his people were drowned, al-Quran informs us that it was an exemplary punishment for the former (ancients) and the latter (modern). Of the two great signs that Allah had given Moses to show to the Pharaoh, one was the conversion (and reversion) of Moses' stick into a living thing, moving like a snake, which also became a manifest serpent when the stick was thrown in front of the Pharaoh. When Allah commanded Moses to go to Pharaoh, who was transgressing, Moses prayed 'My Lord! Expand for me my breast'.

The heart lies within the breast:

So have not they traveled in the land and is for them hearts (to) reason with it or ears (to) hear with it? For indeed, [it] not (are) blinded the eyes but (are) blinded the hearts which (are) in the breasts.

وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي

He said, "My Lord! Expand for me my breast
And ease for me my task
And untie (the) knot from my tongue
That they may understand my speech.
When Moses was commanded to go the Pharaoh, he prayed that his breast be expanded! So, how do whispers affect us?

And when We said to the Angels, "Prostrate to Adam." So they prostrated except Iblis. He said, "Shall I prostrate to (one) whom You created (from) clay?"
He said, "Do You see this whom You have honored, above me? If You give me respite till (the) Day (of) the Resurrection, I will surely destroy his offspring except a few."
He said, "Go, and whoever follows you among them then indeed, Hell (is) your recompense - a recompense ample.
And incite whoever you can among them with your voice, and assault [on] them with your cavalry and infantry and be a partner in the wealth and the children, and promise them." And not promises them the Shaitaan except delusion.
"Indeed, My slaves not for you over them any authority. And sufficient (is) your Lord (as) a Guardian."

وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ وَلِيٌّ مِّنَ الذُّلِّ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيرًا
Say, "Invoke Allah or invoke the Most Gracious. By whatever (name) you invoke, to Him (belongs) the Most Beautiful Names. And (do) not be loud in your prayers and not be silent therein, but seek between that a way."
And say, "All Praise (is) for Allah the One Who has not taken a son and not is for Him a partner in the dominion, and not is for Him any protector out of weakness. And magnify Him (with all) magnificence."

We recite portions of The Quran in our prayers. Our prayers are supposed to deter us from sins:

The word تَصْنَعُونَ is also translated in the meanings of to build or construct. The ancient mighty civilisations have built great buildings and monuments. From discoveries being made at those ancient monuments, they also built resonance chambers. Most of them were polytheists, with snakes and serpents playing a significant role in their mythologies. Prophet-King Solomon was a Muslim who was bestowed the last mightiest kingdom not seen since then in this world. His forces included the jinns, i.e. snakes as well. The jinns even built great things in Solomon's kingdom (Q34:12-14). From Q2:102 and Q21:82 we know that the devils (shayateen) were doing other things as well in that kingdom, including teaching magic; however they were being divinely guarded, and therefore could cause only limited harm and only to those for whom Allah permitted such a trial. Perhaps, the wisdom of the directive to recite prayers in soft tones is because it is the exact tool we need to deter us from acting upon the الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ , while also praying Q114 for Allah's supreme protection.

The louder and lower frequency airborne sounds are, the more easily a snake can detect them. This isn't entirely unlike our own hearing—although we do hear high-pitched airborne sounds directly more easily than snakes do, we also rely on amplification provided by our ear drums, inner ear hairs, and other parts of our bodies.
